I like to get creative with my old clothes. With those items that I love and can’t bear to give away, I try to breathe new life into them. It takes a little imagination and creativity to turn something old into something new – again.

It doesn’t necessarily have to take a lot of work. It can be as simple as cutting off the sleeves or sewing on a few beads or making a stencil of a heart or a rivet nut to add some flair to an old outfit. There are lots of creative ideas online and Pinterest is a probably good place to start.

I was out at the mall with a friend who is looking for a titanium watch birthday gift for her significant other. The mall was unusually quiet for a Saturday morning and I was a little puzzled. It’s usually teeming with an early morning weekend crowd but today, we even managed to find a parking spot right away.

We had a quiet lunch at our usual restaurant and we didn’t even have to wait in line. Then it struck me that there’s a computer fair going on downtown which probably explains it. Folks can never get enough technology, it seems!

Even now that I’ve finally got an iPhone, I have to say I’m still a little musically deprived especially when it comes to having a workout playlist. For a long time now, I’ve been saying I will get myself an mp3 player so I can work out to music.

Yes, apparently workouts are more effective if you do them listening to music. Of course, not having a playlist myself, I can’t vouch for it. I really must get some help from a geeky friend and figure out my iPhone. My ortofon headphones are waiting in the wings and I can’t wait to plug them in.

I surf the net a lot. I guess everyone knows that by now. I surf because I love to shop. And goodness knows how many times I come across stuff that I love and I tell myself, I’m so coming back to buy that later. And then I surf on, and pretty soon, I can’t find the site where I saw that shoe, or dress, that I wanted to buy.

I don’t know how many times I’ve wished I’d bookmarked it or something so I can easily get back to it later. Looks like someone heard me and came up with this amazing online organizing tool called clipix. Which lets me, as the name suggests, clip and save stuff I come across onto a handy-dandy clipboard and I won’t ever lose it again.

I can clip those funky shoes I so so love and all those priceless gift ideas and organize them on my own clipboards, and I can easily go back and find the sites where I’d seen them earlier. Brilliant! Not only that, I can share my clippings with my friends.

Looks like spring is cutting winter short this year. And that’s so exciting because well, for one, it means bikini season is just around the corner. If that’s the case, we’d better be ready to don those tank tops, skinny shorts, swimsuits and bikinis.

The time to start exercising away the winter flab is now. It doesn’t have to cost a lot of money but it sure will take a lot of willpower. I’m a believer that you can work out any time anywhere. You just need to find that motivation.

February is here and I wonder how many folks are still keeping up with their New Year resolutions of losing weight and keeping fit. With the Super Bowl, I’m guessing there’s even more motivation to work out with all the good food being passed around.

The best time to exercise is early in the morning. I think that’s the time when people are least likely to find excuses not to exercise. You get up and shrug into your workout clothes and Joe Rocket Phoenix 5 Jacket and you’re off. You get it done and out of the way before your busy day begins. How convenient is that!
