Going to any warehouse sales? Yes, I know, this is hardly the kind of weather you’d want to be in a crowded warehouse sifting through tons of irresistible bargains.
I love a good warehouse sale. But I hate having to be ever so vigilante in case I end up with something I’m going to regret spending my money later.
We all know that warehouse sales are mostly for clearing out old stock, discontinued or outdated products and sometimes even to get rid of irregular or defective items.
I’m particularly wary of cosmetic warehouse sales because I came homeĀ once with a bunch of old, hard lipsticks that expired ages ago and they were still selling them. Lipsticks don’t carry expiry dates so it’s hard to tell.
So yeah, you really have to be careful about checking the expiry dates before you buy. Some of the products have missing or defective parts so you want to watch out for those as well.
With food items, I tend to look at the condition of the packaging such as dents, damaged boxes and missing freshness seals that would signal that the product has been compromised.
