Love to shop? Love to save? Subscribe to my RSS feed to receive our latest shopping updates. Thanks for visiting!
Ever been in a meeting with a HR Manager wearing a leather skirt? Or ticked off a female staff for wearing shorts to work? Or dealt with a bank officer wearing a bareback? I have.
Thing is you shouldn’t dress for work the same way you would dress to go shopping or to a social event. Dressing for work just requires that you put some thought and use your discretion when planning what to wear.
When I was working in Corporate Tower, I was the only woman manager in an all-men management team. So I had to think twice about looking feminine yet professional. But it’s not hard.
You want to keep the lines simple without showing off too much. So save those spaghetti straps, barebacks, low necklines, high hemlines, midriff-baring tops for casual wear.

Stillettos can be hell especially if you have a job that requires you to be on your feet. So go with a comfortable heel height that won’t put too much strain on your feet and back.
Those flip-flops and super-flatties don’t belong in the workplace so stash them away till the weekend. And go easy on those accessories. In many cases, less is more.

Come to think of it, there are many ways to cut cost around the house. It’s not nearly as drastic as a lifestyle change because all it requires is some simple behavioral modifications.
Here are some things we’re doing/you can do at home to reduce waste:
Last person out of the room switches off everything that’s not in use – lights, fans, air-conditioning, chargers, etc. This has always been our house rule even before gas prices went up.
I park my car outside if I’m going out again soon. It saves on using the electric gate. Yes, the price of electricity has gone up too, so what else is new?
We’re cooking at home more as it’s much cheaper and healthier. For the price of one restaurant meal, we can have several healthy, homecooked meals.
My neighbor buys her garbage bags. I’ve never bought any before. I reuse old plastic bags for trash.
I only do a laundry run when I have enough clothes for one load. After all, we have plenty of clean clothes so we really are in no rush to get our laundry done.
Many people go line up at the car wash first thing Sunday morning and pay to sit there and watch their car being washed. Why when you can DIY, get a great workout and save money at the same time? Hey, sitting too much is not good for you, okay? I wash my own car or better yet, I let the rain do it for me
.
The bottom line is to reduce waste and there are countless ways to do that. How are you doing it? Care to share?

It seems we’re fast becoming a city of advertisements. I was at 1 Utama recently and noticed they’ve got ads now on the automatic sliding glass doors, elevator doors and the pillars all over the mall? Gah! Talk about an overkill.
But given that we’re heading towards a weakening economy, I guess businesses have to advertise all the more to get noticed and to stay in the running.
I’m sure that sort of advertising can’t be cheap. Compare that with online social media advertising at SocialSpark and I think they’ll really see the difference. That’s exactly what I mean, why don’t these businesses advertise online instead?
IZEA offers so many different advertising options and services to choose from. You could have a bunch of bloggers reviewing your business. Give them some free samples to try and they’ll be able to write an even better review
.
Or you could have your ad flashed on different sites whenever someone visits. As more people go online to make their purchases, you don’t have to worry that no one will see your ad.
So if you’re involved in advertising for your company, you should take a look at what IZEA has to offer. Sometimes you need to experiment with new and trendier ways of advertising, no?

Short shorts are in this season and just the perfect thing for these hot, sunny days. For those who have slim, endless legs, there’s no better time to show off those lanky limbs of yours.

As for the rest, you’ll be relieved to know capris are still the trend and you can strut around in those without fear of drawing undue attention to your legs
.

I personally find capris to be much more practical especially if you’re out with young kids. I guess the term for it is active wear which allows you lots of room for movement and to accomodate some of the stunts mommies are best known for.
