Pikom PC Fair 2008 (II)

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

Love to shop? Then subscribe to my RSS feed to be the first to find out what's hip and happenin' in the world of shopping. Thanks for visiting!

Okay, my shopping list is complete and ready to go with me to the Pikom PC Fair tomorrow. And if you’ve had a list like mine that’s been growing longer by the week, and you’re all set to make the big sweep of IT equipment, the second round of the Pikom PC Fair 2008 is back in town.

It starts tomorrow, August 1-3, 2008 from 11:00am - 9:00pm at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, KLCC.

Experience tells me the place is going to be packed like sardines, and if you’re planning on bringing your family along on the weekend, be sure you keep an eye on your kids.

Daughtry concert @ 1 Utama

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

I’d be lying if I said we went to 1 Utama for the Daughtry jam session. We were there for dinner and saw the crowds heading towards the main entrance to the open-air stage area outside. It was only 6pm and the early birds were just milling around people-watching.

After dinner, we went back out there in the hopes of catching some action to blog about. Duh! There was just this long line outside standing in the evening drizzle. No sign of Daughtry. No sign of anything worth listening to.

We passed in front of the stage area at around 7:30 and still there was nothing happening yet. I guess it’s Daughtry’s loss he didn’t get my autograph, eh??

myLifetime, a lifestyle site for women

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

I’m been a workout freak lately, jumping out of bed and into the shower and straight to the gym right after the kids get out the door to school.

Well, though I’m not strictly on a mission to lose weight, I have to confess there’s still a whole lot about diet and nutrition that I’m interested to find out about.

I’ve been doing most of my reading at myLifetime.com. Well, let me put it this way, it feels like I’m sitting at a hair salon and flipping through those stacks of women’s magazines like crazy trying to catch up with the latest trends in beauty and fashion, horoscopes, and fitness advice.

Well, you go and have a look and you’ll understand what I mean.

how to reduce trips to the stationery store

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Do your kids run you to the bookstore several times a week? Well, I do and now I’m wiser (not necessarily older  ).

I have designated the kids a drawer for stationery supplies. Whenever there’s a sale on, I get them to stock up on stuff they need to use all the time, i.e those items that run out fast.

I also keep a boxful of art supplies - all sorts of colored papers and cardboards, drawing blocks, water colors, and old toothpaste boxes, bottle caps, and other stuff that art teachers often ask for at short notice.

going ga-ga over Hue

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

I was rushing to get my socks on to get to the gym early this morning. That’s when I noticed there was a hole in my right sock. Ack! It’s my one and only one pair of socks left since my girls have been sneaking my new ones.

Good thing I know exactly where I can some new ones. I’ve taken a fancy to Hue socks and I’m sure my girls will too as soon as they find out.

Hue not only has socks, they also offer some really cute sleepwear, shoes and accessories. I’m not telling the girls yet because I want to surprise them with birthday presents from there. Okay, so I’m going ga-ga over their cosmetic pouches and anklet socks.

got myself a new toy

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

I guess some of you guys know I’m using a pocket PC which doubles up as my phone. Yeah, it’s so convenient for all my shopping lists and stuff.

Well, guess what? I got myself a new pocket PC just a couple of days ago, the latest iPAQ Business Navigator. I’m still playing around with it and until I’m doing exploring its features, I can’t really do a full review of it yet.

But okay, so far, I’m lovin’ it! More later.

hip-hop to the music and the clothes

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

You know, my three kids are so hooked on music these days it seems they have MP3 coming out their ears. Sigh! I can nag but no one’s going to hear me… seriously.

I’d much rather they switched to just wearing Rocawear to tune into their taste in music. After all, this brand of trendy watches, shirts and jeans originated from the realm of music and gravitated itself towards apparel that jives to urban music.

I’m sure my kids already know about this brand of clothing. I spied Steev checking out their website the other day and I have to say I saw some pretty cool t-shirts there that would make a great birthday present for him.

confessions of a bulk shopper

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Okay, so even the Shopperista is stumped. The fuel price hike is going to cause a huge dent to the shopping budget now, thank you very much.

I’ve been grocery-shopping like crazy over the weekend. Crazy, not as in running amok but as in a little over the top. Just being a little proactive in stocking up on stuff that’s going to cost a heckuva more in the weeks ahead.

Now that we’ve decided to eat in more, I have to stock up my two fridges to bursting point. I have three growing teens who are constantly on the ‘food prowl’ so I have to keep my kitchen well stocked up.

I’m the chronic bulk shopper so I’m used to it. Sometimes I buy so much I fill up the car trunk and the whole floor of my vehicle from front to back.

So far, I’ve stashed away roughly 25kg of rice, 10kg of cooking oil, 10kg of Milo, 100 rolls of toilet paper, 20 boxes of tissues, 12 boxes of toothpaste. No worries, there’s only a couple more things I need to buy this weekend  .

trendy hip-hop casuals

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

I used to love buying pretty dresses for my two girls, yes, even before the kiddy clothes got this fancy. But now that they’re teens, they have their own taste in fashion.

Now they’re raving about teen brands like Baby Phat with its very sassy fashion statements for the young and trendy. I have to say, even I am impressed with Kimora Lee Simmons’ collection of premiere hip-hop casuals.

Who knows, if my girls bug me enough, I may even be tempted to try on a couple of pieces from there and see how they fit me. Have you ever tried them?

what kind of shopperista am I?

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

I haven’t gone shopping in a couple of weekends. Looks like I certainly haven’t been living up to mark as far as being a shopperista is concerned. I have a shopping list that needs to be filled and the mega sales are on right now. If only I could find the time. Think I’d better hurry.
