Love to shop? Love to save? Subscribe to my RSS feed to receive our latest shopping updates. Thanks for visiting!
Lately I’ve been doing quite a bit of background work, prepping up this blog for the shopping season. This is, after all, a shopping blog and I’m sure many of you will be looking out for great deals now that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are, what, like a week away?
If you’re running any kind of business blog or website, I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s especially important for your blog to stay up during this time of year if you’re trying to make some money.
Well, that’s not entirely true. Even if you’re running a non-business blog, you still have an obligation to your blog readers, right?
And the only way to ensure that your site or blog stays up and running is to have reliable website hosting. I know, there are so many webhosting services out there that it can be pretty hard deciding which one suits you best or has the best record.
Then there are the bonuses to consider. Some webhosting services come with free domain names and other freebies. Be sure you check out Web Hosting Geeks as they provide feature comparisons of the top 10 webhosting services to help you evaluate your choices and decide on the hosting service that best suits your needs.

If you guys are like me, you only buy books when they’re on sale
. Books are so expensive when they’re not on sale that it really pays to wait for the sales.
The Borders Year End sale is on the Concourse Lower Ground floor of Borders Berjaya Times Square from November 15-20, 2008. It’s ongoing now with lots of interesting activities for the kids as well.
Some people say Borders sales aren’t as good as MPH sales, and others say Borders has books that MPH doesn’t. I really can’t say because I haven’t been to a Borders sale and the last MPH warehouse sale I went to wasn’t much of a sale as the books were still pretty expensive.
Popular Bookstore is also having its sale at all their outlets with books going for up to 25% off. I won’t be going to this one either.

I notice many of the malls already have their Christmas trees and decor up and are playing Christmas carols already. Gosh, I really love this time of year.
Do you have your Christmas tree up at home yet? If I were celebrating Christmas, I would definitely opt to buy an artificial tree instead of a real one.

Somehow I don’t like the idea of cutting down a tree just to have it in my living room for a month and then throw it away. Such a waste especially when we’re trying to save money as well as the environment.
The good thing is that the artificial trees look so realistic these days no one’s going to know the difference. Don’t believe me, go check out the vast assortment of Realistic Christmas Trees and see for yourself.
Once Christmas is over, you can pack up the tree and reuse it for any number of years. Christmas Tree For Me has a pretty impressive selection of pre-lit artificial Christmas trees, colored trees and wreaths.
During the Black Friday/Cyber Monday period between November 24 and December 1, 2008, they are offering free shipping on any order. If you haven’t bought your tree yet, go check them out.

I can honestly tell you I can’t live without my morning cup of coffee. I’d love to have a cup of real coffee instead of those 3-in-1’s but I’m just too sleepy and lazy to bother!
That’s why I was so excited when I saw these. Can you blame me? A triple latte in a can from Shock Coffee, no less. Guaranteed to jolt the dreams from my sleepy, half-shut eyes.

I have so many friends who are coffee freaks I’m thinking the Shock Coffee gift set would be just the perfect gift this holiday season. If I get them this set, I’ll get to drink it too when I go visit them during the holidays, bwahaha. Sneaky, eh?

The gift set contains bags of ground coffee, canned coffee, a travel mug, a ceramic mug, and a matching “Sleep is Overrated” t-shirt and hat. How convenient! It’s got a bit of everything including apparel that any coffee freak would be proud to wear!
Shock Coffee produces some of the world’s finest energy coffee blends from 100% Arabica coffee beans. Well, they have the whole beans as well as ground coffee in ‘energy’ and ‘organic’ blends, powdered instant cappuccino and evenĀ Shock-A-Lots chocolate-covered coffee beans.
From November 1 thru December 31, 2008, use the Black Friday/Cyber Monday coupon code - 5OFFSHOCK - to get 5% off all Shock Coffee products. So what are you waiting for?

I’m expecting my cousins and their kids to be coming in from out of town any time soon. Yep, the school holidays are here and as sure as Christmas is just a little over a month away (and counting), we’ll soon be shopping from sun-up to sundown.
Trouble is it gets harder to buy my nieces and nephews gifts every year. I think personalized gifts are the best as kids love to see their names on their gifts and stuff.
I know my nieces will go absolutely goo-goo over these personalized teddy bears! See, how cute they are!

And for my nephews, personalized children’s books for the younger ones and one of those Marvel Hero story books for the older boys who are so full of flying kicks and punches and make-believe leaping from my sofa.
From now thru November 30, 2008, be sure you use the Black Friday/Cyber Monday coupon code - HOLIDAY15 - to get $15 off when you order $25 or more of Funetics products.

Did you go to the Jusco sale? I think it was like two weeks ago but I’ve been too busy to blog about it. Anyways, I try not to miss it because it’s probably one of the more genuine sales out there.
You get a good upfront discount and then another 5-10% off your total purchases on top of that. Do the math and you know it’s not a bad deal.
My girls and I bought a pair of jeans each at 70% off. I think theirs were AppleMints and mine was Diesel. Oops, forgot to snap a photo. Suffice to say, they were really worth it.
We didn’t buy as much as we thought we would at the grocery section because most things were not that much cheaper. The lines were long enough that I managed to make friends with a few of the ladies in line
. I mean, what do you expect? Everyone was complaining. We were tired of standing in line and there was nothing else to do but chit-chat, you know.

This year seems to be a year of coupons for us. We’ve gotten tickets to so many free movies, some with free popcorn and drinks, others with free lunches and dinners for our whole family even.

Over the past week, we’ve been using our coupons for burgers, pizzas, donuts and fruit juice. Most businesses are very smart. When they send you a stack of coupons, they always require you to buy something, then get something free or at a discounted price.
Not these coupons! With these ones we got, when they say it’s free, it’s really free. No purchase necessary so we just walk in, present our coupons, pig out and then walk out. How nice
!
We managed to use up all the coupons before they expire today. In fact, yesterday I drove the kids all the way to Midvalley so we could have our free San Francisco lattes and Big Apple donuts.
And we’re laughing!! It’s nice to be stuffing ourselves silly without me having to touch my wallet once
. What a yummy way to save money?!! Here’s hoping for more good coupon karma coming our way!

Raine’s classmate told us about the MPH book sale that’s going on at Jalan Bersatu this weekend. The kids have been hankering after books to read for months now.
But I’ve been holding off. They know I will only buy books from warehouse sales, simply because the normal prices of books are just too ridiculous!! Seriously!

We bought this stack of books at around 30% discount each which is surprising because we go to lots of warehouse sales and most of the books there are at least 50-70% off, sometimes more.
As you can see, we didn’t buy that many books. I made the girls put back some that they’d selected. We’re waiting for the next warehouse sale where hopefully the books will be much more heavily discounted.

I’ve been reading up quite a bit lately about the slowdown in the global economy. Not that I’ve ever been really that interested before but it’s interesting to know how supply and demand affect the prices we pay for stuff.
I take buying stuff at the store very much for granted. It never even occurs to me how the stuff goes through Material Handling from the factory to the store.
I never even knew about the Shuttlelift lift equipment and cranes that are used to load the boxes of goods to be transported here to the store where they’re all laid out nice and pretty and I can just stroll in and shop.
Well, now I know…

See, I got my fingernails all prettied up for the long weekend. I’ve always wanted to have my nails painted with floral designs but I’m not one of those who has time to sit around for hours while each petal is painstakingly dotted on?

Well, I had mine done by a laser printer at the HP Digital Home Living booth on the Ground Floor at 1 Utama’s New Wing
. I think they’ll be there through October 27, 2008.
The lady got me to stick my finger into this printer with a big hole and I picked a design from the selection on the laptop. She hit the ‘print’ button and I could hear the printer head clacking away the design onto my nail. How cool is that!
All done in a matter of minutes. Yes, an unlikely place to get my nails painted, my arm tattooed and a yummy cupcake to munch I know, and for free too. Woo-hoo.
