Is it me or are the malls late with their Christmas decor this year? Gosh, I’m walking around and I’m not seeing much excitement. At all.
My kids tell me that it’s only November but haven’t the malls made it their business to have us celebrate Christmas in June anyways?
I missed my Thanksgiving turkey and now the Christmas decor is late? Hey, someone better wake up from their slumber, okay? Duh!
Granted that was just one mall I went to. I haven’t gotten around to all the others yet.

Christmas is definitely in the air. The malls are decking up even as we speak, or maybe they’re already done by now. I really can’t wait to get out there and start shopping. Stay tuned as I bring you more photos and updates.

This has just been a super weekend for shopping. The girls and I went to the Pearson Book Sale twice this weekend. On the first day, we came home with 26 books.
Once obviously wasn’t enough for us, we wanted more. So we went back again just to pick up a couple more books that we wish we’d bought on the first day but didn’t.
Well, guess what, we came back with 20 more books! Crazy as this may sound, we were paying like one-third the normal price of books.
So do you think we’re getting our money’s worth? I’d say so, yeah! See why we don’t buy any books at regular prices.
We save up and buy them like maybe once or twice a year at warehouse sales like this one.

We saw a toddler out shopping with his parents the other day. The toddler was on a leash and I thought, yeah, it’s been a while since I saw one of those.
Regardless of what the older folks might say about treating your child like an animal, I think the leash is a great idea. I say, better an animal than to be kidnapped by one! It may not look good but it certainly works.
If you’re out in the weekend and holiday crowd, the leash ensures your child doesn’t wander too far from you and get lost. I don’t know about you but I’ve read enough stories in the papers to send shivers down my spine.

Do you check the prices on your grocery bill after you pay or do you assume that everything’s hunky dory? If you don’t, join the club of millions who don’t either.
Well, I wised up after I noticed that I was being overcharged, nothing much, just a few cents here and there. But a few cents do add up at stores which are consistently not up to mark with synchronizing the pricing at the shelf with the pricing at the cash register.
When the clerk swipes our items across the barcode reader, we typically don’t bother looking at the display because we take it for granted that everything’s electronically programmed (as opposed to being manually entered) so it must all be correct.
I read somewhere that grocery chains make millions in excess revenue a year just from overcharging each customer by a few cents. Multiply that by the volume of customers and goods that go through checkout and it shouldn’t be that hard to imagine.
I check my bill diligently now before I leave the store. Things are expensive enough as they are without me paying more than I should be. Needlessly!
